Science Fair

Our middle school students have been working on their science fair projects for a few months, and they are now ready to share their hard work with you. You can view the projects on Thursday, January 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. We ask all parents to bring their parent ID cards with them. On Friday, January 19 judges and students from Bishop Stang High School will be judging the projects from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We look forward to a wonderful science fair!


Bowling

It's time to bowl! Holy Name students are going bowling on Friday, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. at AMF Somerset Lanes. We will provide all students with cheese pizza and soft drinks at no charge. Please see our bowling flyer for additional details.


Re-Registration

Re-registration forms have been sent home. If you have an interest in applying for financial assistance, please complete the FACTS grant and aid assessment online. The deadline to apply is on March 1, 2018.


Feeding the Hungry Volunteers

Calling all upper class students who are willing to meet after school on Wednesdays to make bagged lunches for our local homeless shelter. We will be making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. If you have an allergy to tree nuts or peanuts, please be aware. Please fill out our volunteer form and have it back to us by January 22. This is a wonderful opportunity to take care of those around us. "Truly I tell you that whatever you did for the least of my brothers you did for me." Matthew 25: 40/37


Sports and Bowling Day Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to assist with our sports day on Monday, January 29 and bowling on Friday, February 2. If you are able to assist on sports day or for bowling, please fill out the bottom of our volunteer form and return to Ms. Chippendale on or before Friday January 19. Thank you! We look forward to these wonderful events!


Catholic Schools Week

We will celebrate Catholic Schools Week from Sunday, January 28 through Saturday, February 3, 2018. The schedule for the week is as follows:

  • Monday, January 29 - Sports day
  • Tuesday, January 30 - Jeff Veley, an award-winning speaker, social skills educator, and entertainer will be speaking with the students, faculty, staff, and parents
  • Thursday, February 1 - Spelling bee for grades 5/6 and 7/8 along with science fair awards
  • Friday, February 2 - Bowling/crazy sock day

Tuition Raffle

A donor has pledged $3940, the amount for the 2017-2018 school year. We will draw a winning raffle ticket during Catholic Schools Week. Tickets are $10 each.


Boston Red Sox Trip

Join us for another great trip to see the Boston Red Sox play Detroit on Thursday, June 7. We have a limited number of seats reserved in the bleachers for this game. Ticket options are available with or without transportation. The deadline to order tickets is on Tuesday, January 16. Please see our Fenway Park flyer for more information.


Luxury Raffle

It's time for the Holy Name 50/50 luxury raffle. There are only 200 tickets available with a potential $10,000 take home for the winner! Tickets are $100 and are available for purchase in the school office. Please see our luxury raffle flyer for complete details.


Task Force on School Report

Bishop DaCunha held a press conference on November 4 to announce the completion of Task Force on School Report. Please view the report at your earliest convenience.

Although this is a very difficult and painful time for the Holy Name School Family, the love and concern shown by so many contains much healing.
